The C2C is Britain's favourite challenge ride: 220 kilometres from the Irish Sea at Whitehaven over the Lake District's edge and the roof of the Pennines — Hartside, Black Hill, the wild miles past Allenheads — before the long descent to the North Sea at Tynemouth, where tradition demands you dip your wheel.
