About This Route
The Loch Ness Marathon may be the most beautiful 26.2 in Britain: a point-to-point along the south-eastern shore of the loch, dropping out of the moorland above Fort Augustus, running the water's edge past Dores with the full length of Loch Ness alongside, then climbing away to finish beside the River Ness in Inverness.
Runners come from fifty countries for it — for the scenery, the bagpipes on the start line, and the small hope of a monster sighting around mile 18. Our 3D printed terrain model captures the Great Glen in relief with the course traced shore to city.
