About This Route
Sierre-Zinal is mountain running's most storied race: 31 kilometres and 2,200 metres of climbing from the Rhône valley floor at Sierre up to the balcony trail above the Val d'Anniviers, running beneath the gaze of five 4,000-metre peaks — Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Matterhorn and Dent Blanche — to the finish at Zinal.
Since 1974 it has crowned the sport's greatest names, with 5,000 runners and hikers making the pilgrimage each August. Our 3D printed terrain model renders the valley and its crown of giants in relief, with the course traced from vines to glacier village.
