About This Route
Ironman Lanzarote calls itself the toughest Ironman in the world, and few finishers argue: a 180km bike loop of the entire volcanic island with over 2,500 metres of climbing through Timanfaya's lava fields, the long grind to Haría and Mirador del Río at the island's north cliff — all of it in the relentless Canary wind that is the race's true opponent.
Held since 1992, it's the connoisseur's Ironman, with a famously British field. Our 3D printed terrain model captures the whole island in relief — volcanoes, cliffs and coast — with the bike course looping across it.
